The 2014 Adobe Design Achievement Awards (ADAA) finalists have been announced and out of nearly 4,500 submissions and just 25 finalists selected from around the globe, three of them are recent SVA alumni.
John Choi (BFA 2014 Design) made the Motion Graphics category for Nice to Meet You, a 20-second typographic presentation. Donica Ida (MFA 2014 Design) is a finalist in the Web and App Design category for her thesis NORTH, a location-based curatorial mobile application utilizing user narratives to promote interaction with nature and the outdoors. NaiWei Liu (MFA 2014 Computer Art) is a finalist in the Animation category for his 2D film, Something Important, a journey of self-discovery told through a series of vivid memories.
The ADAA showcase individual and group projects created with Adobe software honoring student talent that combines technology and creative arts. Grand Prize winners are selected from category winners in three media segments: interactive experience, video and motion, and traditional. They will receive Adobe software, a cash prize of $3000, mentorship and an invitation to participate in the 2014 Adobe MAX held in Los Angeles. Grand prize winners will be announced by October 9, 2014.
