The Daily News ran a profile of BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department student Devin Washburn, whom they dub “Brooklyn’s Mr. Clean.” Washburn has been spending one hour per day picking up litter in Brooklyn neighborhoods and posting photos of his community service on his blog, The Daily Clean.
Washburn tells Daily News writer Ben Chapman that since starting the project, he’s amassed thousands of visitors to the site and even a few followers who have started doing similar clean-up in their own parts of the city. “It’s amazing that people have taken an interest,” Washburn says in the article. “It’s kind of addictive, because it feels good to do something positive for your community.”
