In The Press: Alice Twemlow in The Observatory

December 20, 2010

Following this year’s AIGA Design Educators Conference, Design Observer posted the unique perspectives of six of the writers who had recorded sessions during the conference. One of these is MFA Design Criticism Department Chair Alice Twemlow, whose synthesized observations written with Peter Hall assert that students need a more global perspective and teaching methods need to improve. Twemlow and Hall write, “While social innovation and community-based initiatives may be blossoming around the world, design educators seem relatively ill-equipped in terms of methods, protocol and administrative support to send students out into the field to help these initiatives or work on new ones.”
