In The Press: Maro Chermayeff in the New York Times and Shoot

November 10, 2010

Following the debut of MFA Social Documentary Film Department Chair Maro Chermayeff‘s PBS television series Circus, there have been two recent newspaper articles covering the program.

Explaining how she “goes deep into the subculture—the people with ‘sawdust in their blood,'” Shoot magazine also details the kind of equipment Chermayeff uses to create her cinema verite films.

Neil Genzlinger in the New York Times describes Circus as a “quietly addictive” series that “takes the time to let you get to know this unusual collection of misfits and perfectionists, making their triumphs and especially their setbacks truly affecting.”
