On Wednesday, June 2, the MFA Social Documentary Film Department and independent media organization Arts Engine brought the tenth edition of the annual Media That Matters Festival (MTMF) to the SVA Theatre. The event featured screenings of a dozen short films tackling social and political issues, such as Katie Falkenberg’s Uninsured in the Mississippi Delta, Stacey Muhammed’s I Am Sean Bell and Patrick’s Smith’s Shades of the Border. The SVA event kicked off three days of MTMF programs, including a set of screenings in London and a series of educational conversations with the filmmakers.
