Two photographers whose work is included in the MPS Digital Photography Department’s “Surface Tension” exhibition (on view at the SVA Gallery through Saturday, November 14) have recently caught the eye of the media:
- Today’s Zaman an English-language newspaper from Turkey, talked to alumnus Tolga Adanali (MPS 2009 Digital Photography) about his Solitary Manhattan series, which captures iconic views of the city minus any trace of its 8.3 million inhabitants.
- Damien Wampler (MPS 2009 Digital Photography) was interviewed in two venues: The New York Post ran a profile of Wampler, whose work focuses on a community of Darfuris in the borough; and Brooklyn’s 24/Seven online arts and entertainment guide also talked to the photographer. “The world is small,” he told the Post. “There is no such thing as a faraway country or a distant land anymore.”
