Top Design

October 1, 2009

MFADThe MFA Design Department at SVA has been named one of the World’s Top Design Schools for 2009 by Business Week. It’s part of a special report on what the magazine calls “the nascent movement to teach design thinking and innovation to a new generation of global corporate leaders.” The program is noted for challenging students to come up with a concept that addresses a real need, and then to produce and market it, for their thesis project. One high-profile example is alumnus Deborah Adler’s (MFA 2002 Design) ClearRx prescription system for Target, which can be found in the collection of The Museum of Modern Art.
