Asked and Answered

September 1, 2009

A recent feature posted on the MFA Interaction Design Department blog found Department Chair Liz Danzico asking members of the digital design community to respond to the proposition, “So you’re thinking about becoming a designer? If I could tell you only one thing about going into the field, my advice would be ___________ .”

Each of more than dozen respondents submitted a short video with their answer. To view videos from designers including faculty member Jennifer Bove (“You have to be empathetic to your users, toward your clients, to the people you’re working with on your team”), Jim Coudal (“Hire the one who can write”), Whitney Hess (“Fully understand the problem before you attempt to solve it”), Ryan Sims (“Bridge the gap between where your talent is and where your taste is”), Michael Surtees (“Digital isn’t a one-time shot, but a constant upgrade”) and others, click here.
