Cookie Monsters

March 5, 2009

If you’ve got a hankering for a name-brand chocolate-chip cookie, it might have something to do with the work of BFA Computer Art, Computer Animation and Visual Effects Department faculty member and alumnus Joe Burrascano (BFA 2002 Computer Art). His animation company, Nathan Love, is behind two recent ads for Chips Ahoy that bring the cookie to life and drop him into iconic movie moments. The first clip re-imagines the tornado scene from The Wizard of Oz, and the most recent spot puts the cookie in the title role of the boxing classic Rocky.

The online magazine Motionographer recently spoke to Burrascano about the animations, and he said, “We’ve been in love with the Chips Ahoy campaign since we saw the first spot back in school” and spoke of “our passion for bringing great characters to life.” In addition to the ads for Chips Ahoy, Nathan Love has been behind CG spots for Coca-Cola, Guinness and Stop & Shop, among others.
