On Saturday SVA kicked off an “All-Star Line-Up” of thesis exhibitions and year-end events with the opening of “Self-Portrait”. Curated by the MPS Art Therapy Department’s internship coordinator, Liz DelliCarpini, the exhibition juxtaposes work by student therapists with work by the clients who inspired those pieces. The exhibition runs through Saturday, March 21, at the Westside Gallery, 133/141 West 21st Street, with a reception and presentation of scholarships on Wednesday, March 4, 5 – 7pm.
The spring semester features over 20 such programs, including “Beautiful Losers,” a selection of work by students in the BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department, running from March 20 – April 4 at the Visual Arts Gallery, 601 West 26th Street, 15th floor, as well as the BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department Portfolio Exhibition, March 31 – April 10 at The Art Directors Club, 106 West 29th Street.
