Longtime BFA Advertising and Graphic Design Department faculty member Debbie Millman is back on the shelves with her latest book, The Essential Principles of Graphic Design (How, 2008). Following last year’s How to Think Like a Great Graphic Designer (Allworth Press, 2007), the new tome is a resource for students of design, presented around five key topics: principles, elements, process, applications and employment. Each section adds an important building block to the emerging designer’s arsenal, and Millman also covers useful topics such as project management, the incorporation of illustration and photographs into overall designs, and the rules for image usage and copyright
