On Tuesday, June 10, SVA picked up its third Webby Award at a gala event in Manhattan. As the winner of the People’s Voice award in the School category for the College’s Web site,, SVA was invited to attend a star-studded ceremony at the landmark Cipriani Wall Street.

The event was hosted by Saturday Night Live writer and performer Seth Myers, and featured the Webbys’ traditional five-word limit for acceptance speeches. Michael Walsh, the artistic director of the Visual Arts Press, accepted SVA’s award with, “Dude, Warhol would’ve loved this.” Other highlights of the event included screenings of comedy videos created by The Onion and VH1’s Best Week Ever, and appearances by Lifetime Achievement Award recipient David Byrne, Webby Person of the Year Stephen Colbert and Artist of the Year of The Black Eyed Peas.
