As part of the ongoing Art in the First Person lecture series, SVA is bringing an unusual presentation to campus. Magician and sleight-of-hand artist Ryan the Conjurer will visit the College to perform an array of magical illusions that collectively serve to update Sir Ernst Gombrich’s seminal text, Art as Illusion. Ryan has performed previously at colleges around the country as well as the White House, and in 1990 he became the youngest person to receive an award at the Society of American Magicians’ National Magic Competition.

This event takes place on Thursday, February 28, at 7pm, in the Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd floor. Presented by the BFA Fine Arts Department, in conjunction with NYC’s Brainwave Festival; free and open to the public.
