Solid Scholarship

January 11, 2008

The AIGA and Worldstudio Foundation recently announced the winners of their annual collaborative scholarship awards. Adriana Uribe, a senior in the BFA Graphic Design Department, received the Coyne Family Foundation Award; Patrick Anderson and Angela Lau, both illustration freshman at SVA, were each presented with the Orit Mardkha-Tenzer Award and the Mohawk Paper Award; and Marilyn Montufar, a junior in the BFA Photography Department, won a Mohawk Paper Honorable Mention. Each award winner was presented with a $2,000 scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year, and the honorable mention included a $250 scholarship.

Also, BFA Film, Video and Animation Department student Ian Phillips won the 2007 Young Ambassador Scholarship from the Eye-Bank for Sight Restoration. His 20-minute documentary film, From Darkness to Light, was inspired by the Eye-Bank’s NYC campaign that featured the late actor Jerry Orbach.
