Marvel Comics has already seen its popular X-Men series translated for the big screen, but now it’s moving the mutant heroes to a newer frontier. The publisher has just announced that it will be teaming up with Del Rey Manga to produce new X-Men comics in the popular Japanese Manga style, and the husband-and-wife team of alumni Dave Roman (BFA 1999 Cartooning) and Raina Telgemeier (BFA 2002 Illustration) will write the series. The duo’s first installment of Manga X-Men, which will go on sale in the spring of 2009, will focus on the character Kitty Pryde, a young mutant who is the only girl at the X-Men’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
