Several alumni of the BFA Photography Department currently have exhibitions taking place around the country. David Lubarsky (1979) is showing “Transported,” a collection of pieces from his ongoing project of photographing urban commuters, at Fairfield Arts Council Gallery, 70 Sanford Street, Fairfield, Connecticut, through Wednesday, December 19. Fellow alumnus Lydia Panas (1984) is one of three U.S. artists chosen for “International Discoveries.” This exhibition also features photographers from Argentina, Mexico, Poland, South Korea and Uruguay, and is part of the 2007 edition of FotoFest at Vine Street Studios, Houston, Texas, through Saturday, December 8.
And Brian Finke (1998) has “2-4-6-8: American Cheerleaders and Football Players,” at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, through Sunday, March 2, 2008. The exhibition features a selection of Finke’s high-school sports photos, vividly capturing moments from a quintessentially American sub-culture.
