The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is gearing up for its annual Next Wave Festival, which features visual and performing artists who are set to make an impact on the future of their mediums. Part of the festival is Next Wave Art, a curated selection of emerging voices, and alumni Bradley Castellanos (MFA 2006 Fine Arts) and Yu-Sheng Ho (MFA 2007 Fine Arts) are two of the six artists selected by curator Dan Cameron to contribute work this year.

Castellanos creates intricately cut photo-collages that are layered with lushly colored oil paint and resin, depicting landscapes that threaten to contaminate and consume all life, and Ho’s video art presents conceptual and formal quandaries about the process of making art. Their work will be on display October 2 – December 16 at BAM’s Peter Jay Sharp Building, 30 Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn, with an opening reception on Thursday, October 4, 6 – 8pm.
