Left to their own devices, kids are more likely to grab a sugary snack than a balanced meal. At least that’s the idea that spurred the creation of Kidfresh, a new company whose design, packaging and Web presence were created by Richard Landers (MFA 2006 Design). Kidfresh is a “kid-sized” grocery on the Upper East Side of Manhattan that provides healthy, all-natural, freshly prepared kids meals, ready to go. Shoppers at the store’s 1628 2nd Avenue location will find breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, all with nutritionally balanced portions, all-natural ingredients and kid-friendly packaging.
Another food-baed project comes from current MFA Photography, Video and Related Media Department student Erin Gleeson, who has been snapping photos of elaborately crafted desserts for her thesis. One of those photographs—showing a confection from the local restaurant Room 4 Dessert, 17 Cleveland Place—is part of a Web-exclusive feature on the New York magazine site.
