The Middle Way

January 12, 2007

The Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts (MoCADA) in Brooklyn presents an exhibition entitled “Middle Passage: White Ships, Black Cargo,” collecting nearly 50 drawings by alumnus and Brooklyn native Tom Feelings (G 1953 Illustration). Feelings, who died in August of 2003 of cancer, created this series of images to detail the importation of Africans from their home countries to the New World. Originally organized by the University of South Carolina’s McKissick Museum, “Middle Passage” will be at MoCADA, in the James E. Davis 80 Arts Building, 80 Hanson Place, through Sunday, January 21.
