NYC Redux

March 17, 2006

Students graduating from the BFA Interior Design Department are bringing their work to The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South, in a new exhibition, “Reinventing New York.” Curated by Department Chair Lovejoy Duryea and faculty members Neville Lewis and Anthony Lee, the work in the exhibition explores the changing character of New York City by looking at how existing spaces can become new ones. Whether it is a former meatpacking building that is transformed into a spa and yoga center, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the High Line, or a new luxury hotel in Gramercy, these senior thesis projects demonstrate the power of design to change our world—even when history looms large.

“Reinventing New York” is on display March 23 – 30; there will be an opening reception on Thursday, March 23, 5:30 – 7pm.
