In Memoriam

March 31, 2006

The SVA community marks with sadness the passing of Patrick Sellitto (BFA 1981 Photography), who was killed last week in an auto accident. Sellitto was a professional photographer who made sure to share his gift with others: in addition to his own work, Sellitto founded the 70NW International Photography Gallery and Education Center, a not-for-profit organization in Milford, PA, that is dedicated to the promotion of fine-art photography. He envisioned 70NW as a venue for avant-garde and contemporary photographers to exhibit, publish and interact in a creative environment, offering comprehensive exposure, professional interaction and proactive representation to its members.

Sellitto, a former director and curator of SVA’s student galleries, is survived by his wife Cecilia, his five-year-old daughter Isabelle, his mother Patricia and his two brothers Peter and William.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Sunday, April 9, at 70NW, 224 Broad Street, Milford, PA. Condolences and donations to the family can be sent to: Cecilia Struyf, 440 Route 2001, Milford, PA 18337.
