Every Picture Tells a Story

March 17, 2006

Jonathan Torgovnik (BFA 1996 Photography) earned second place in the Issue Reporting Picture Story category of the Missouri School of Journalism’s Picture of the Year International competition. His winning work was “Methamphetamine Epidemic in America,” a photoessay about a family of methamphetamine addicts in Kentucky that appeared in Germany’s Stern magazine.

Also, Steven Heller, co-chair of the MFA Design Department, recently received the 2006 Richard Gangel Art Director Award from the Society of Illustrators. The award is given each year to an art director who has shown significant and ongoing support for the art of illustration.
