Open Sesame

December 9, 2005

As the semester draws to a close, SVA’s fine arts students are opening up their studios to the public. Both the MFA and BFA Fine Arts Departments will have students’ latest work on display, all in a festive, informal setting that lets the artists show off their art in style.

Things kick off at the BFA Fine Arts Department’s sculpture studio, which will open its doors at 30 West 17th Street, on December 10 – 11, 12 – 6pm, with a reception on Monday, December 12, 5 – 9pm. The department’s painting students have their own event on the 4th and 6th floors on Thursday, December 15, 5 – 9pm. And the MFA Fine Arts Department hosts its open studios event at 141 West 21st Street, 8th and 9th floors, on Friday, December 16, 12 – 8pm, and Saturday, December 17, 12 – 6pm; there will be a reception on Thursday, December 15, 5 – 9pm. All three events are free and open to the public.
