Break Builders

December 16, 2005

For many students, Spring Break conjures up images of beaches and late-night parties. Ten SVA students, however, are doing something a little different: they’ll be spending their spring break, March 6 – 12, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, helping with the Katrina recovery efforts in Mississippi. To help pay their way to the Gulf Coast, they are raising money with a “yard sale” in the Monkey Bar Lounge, 217 East 23rd Street, on Saturday, December 17, 12 – 6pm. The students will be selling both their own items and donated clothing, house wares and anything else – if you would like to make a donation, contact group leaders Kristen Basile at or Kira Beougher at
