The Office of Career Development is gearing up for its annual Industry Fair, where employers from some of NYC’s top arts companies gather to meet students, inspect portfolios and network with future employees and interns. More than 40 companies participate in the fair each year, and this year’s confirmed attendees include Brant Publications, Creative Time, FUBU, Funny Garbage, MTV Networks, the NBA and Time Out New York. The fair will be held on Friday, October 7, noon – 5pm, at The Art Directors Club, 106 West 29th Street. “It’s a chance to meet with key people in your field in one afternoon,” says Leslie Hammond, director of career development. “Even if you’re not interested in a job or internship right now, it’s a great way to learn about these companies and get the process started for the future.” Students and employers who are interested in taking part should contact Hammond at 212.592.2387 or email@example.com.
There will also be a free pre-fair preparatory workshop for students called Ready, Set, Go! on Tuesday, September 27, 6:30pm, in the Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd floor; sign up for the workshop by contacting Internship Coordinator Leigh Winter at 212.592.2389 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
