A Retiring Presence

August 19, 2005

On Wednesday, August 10, more than 60 SVA staff members gathered at Sal & Anthony’s restaurant in Manhattan to mark the retirement of Daphney Andrews, who served in the Office of Financial Aid for 24 years. Both President David Rhodes and Executive Vice President Anthony P. Rhodes spoke to Andrews’ long and dedicated service to the College as a financial aid advisor, and SVA Chairman and founder Silas H. Rhodes was in attendance to pay tribute. According to Executive Director of Admissions and Student Affairs Javier Vega, who worked closely with Andrews for many years, “She’ll always be remembered for the way she nurtured our students and the parental manner in which she engaged them.”
