Getting Ahead

July 22, 2005

Getting ready for college is a process that begins well before fall orientation: each summer, the Office of Admissions offers a session of the pre-college program that brings high-school students to SVA for three weeks of intensive work with the College’s faculty and studio resources (there are also weekend programs in the fall and spring). Students in the program can earn college credit and hone their skills and portfolios, giving them a solid head start for their future in higher education. At the end of this year’s session, students from the pre-college program will exhibit their work in a special show in the SVA Gallery, 209 East 23rd Street, on Friday, July 29, 5 – 7pm, giving attendees a glimpse at some of tomorrow’s newest young artists.
