More Art, in conjunction with the Visual Arts Foundation, is presenting “Art Creates Communities: Project in Chelsea,” an exhibition of works from an ongoing project that connects artists and galleries with children in the Chelsea public schools. The non-profit More Art association and founder/curator Micaela Martegani (faculty, Art History Department) arranged for several artists – including Luca Buvoli (faculty, and MFA 1991 Fine Arts), Tim Rollins (faculty, and BFA 1977 Fine Arts) and Gary Simmons (BFA 1988 Fine Arts) – to work with students from the Clinton Middle School for Writers and Artists (MS260). The fruit of that partnership will be on display at the Bohen Foundation, 415 West 13th Street, from May 19 — June 11; there will be an opening reception on Thursday, May 19, 6 – 8pm. For more information, visit www.moreart.org.
Also, Aïda Ruilova (MFA 1999 Photography and Related Media) is exhibiting “Let’s Go,” a collection of several video-projection works, at Greenberg Van Doren Gallery, 730 Fifth Avenue, through Saturday, June 4.
