@ the Whitney

April 8, 2005

The Whitney Museum of American Art, 945 Madison Avenue, is spotlighting several artists associated with SVA in the coming months. The museum’s slate of artist seminars this month includes Polly Apfelbaum (faculty, MFA Fine Arts) on Thursday, April 21, 7pm; and Lynda Benglis (faculty, BFA Fine Arts), Wednesday, April 27. Admission to each program is $8; $6 for members, senior citizens and students with valid ID. This season’s seminar programs give participants the opportunity to engage with leading artists in the field of sculpture. Coming later in the spring, notable alumnus Banks Violette (BFA 1998 Fine Arts) will have his first Whitney solo exhibition. “Banks Violette: Untitled,” was commissioned by the museum, and will be on display May 27 – October 2.
