War, Terror and Art

On Wednesday, April 6, the Art History Department is presenting its latest panel discussion, “Art in a Time of Terror.” Organized by Department Chair Suzanne Anker, the event will give panelists and attendees the opportunity to examine the history, present and future of art’s relationship to war and terror. The panel features performance artist Marina Abramovic; P.S.1/MoMA curator Klaus Biesenbach; former Whitney Museum Director David A. Ross; author Lawrence Weschler; and moderator Steven Henry Madoff, recent author of the award-winning Christopher Wilmarth: Light and Gravity (Princeton University Press). “Art in a Time of Terror” will take place at 7pm in the Visual Arts Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, Third Floor. Admission is free.
