Life After Death

April 29, 2005

SVA faculty member Bill Beckley recently brought together essays by more than 30 writers in the pages of The Death of Photography and Other Modern Fables on the Visual Arts, a book co-published by SVA and Delano Greenidge Editions. The book’s May 2005 publication is being celebrated with an event: On Wednesday, May 4, P.S.1 Contemporary Arts Center hosts a symposium that shares the book’s title and includes Beckley, Renée Cox (MFA 1992 Photography and Related Media), Siri Hustvedt, Samuel Jamier, Max Kozloff and Winfried Noeth. The symposium will take place in P.S.1’s Vault Gallery from 7 – 9pm, and will also be broadcast live on the museum’s Web radio station, The event is free and open to the public, though there is limited seating available; for more information, visit
