SVA and Darrow School of New Lebanon, New York, have partnered to create the Summer Institute in the Berkshires, a series of five one-week intensive artists’ workshops to begin this July. Some of New York’s leading painters, photographers, sculptors and woodworkers will join their Berkshires counterparts on Darrow’s sprawling Mt. Lebanon campus, which includes the Joline Arts Center, to teach the workshops. Intended primarily for artists working at an intermediate or advanced level, the summer program will afford participants the opportunity to work and exhibit in a community of their peers, under the guidance of an outstanding faculty of working professionals.
From July 11 – August 12, SVA’s Division of Continuing Education (CE) is offering one-week sessions at Darrow for $750, which includes tuition, fees and materials; each one-week session will carry 1.5 undergraduate credits from SVA. Students enrolled in two or more sessions pay $700 per week, and an optional room and board plan is available for $600 per week. For more information, contact CE’s Assistant Director Akiko Aubel at 212.592.2052 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
