The MFA Fine Arts Department is collaborating with Long Island City’s SculptureCenter to spotlight one of the College’s distinguished faculty members with “Configuring Petah Coyne: A Roundtable Discussion,” Tuesday, February 8, 7pm, in the Visual Arts Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, Third Floor. The event is being held in conjunction with the opening of SculptureCenter’s “Petah Coyne: Above and Beneath the Skin,” a touring survey exhibition of Coyne’s work. Exhibition curator Douglas Dreishpoon will moderate the discussion, which will also feature catalogue contributors Eleanor Heartney and Nancy Princenthal. Admission to the roundtable is free and open to the public.
Another exhibition of unique sculptural work is on display at Clementine, 526 West 26th Street, Suite 211. The gallery is showing BFA Fine Arts Department alum Rob de Mar’s (1987) miniature landscapes from February 10 – March 12.
