BFA Photography Department student Tanya Costa has been awarded a scholarship by the Studio Art Centers International (SACI) for study at SACI’s facilities in Florence, Italy, during the spring 2005 semester. “This scholarship award recognizes not only Tanya’s achievements, but also the high caliber of instruction offered by the photography program at School of Visual Arts,” said Jim Miller, SACI’s senior executive.

In other award news, animator Bill Plympton (1969 Media Arts) has been nominated for an Academy Award for his animated short film, Guard Dog. The winners will be announced on Sunday, February 27, 8pm.
