Art enthusiasts traveling to the other side of the International Date Line can see the new solo exhibition by Vivian Massry (MFA 2004 Fine Arts). The Groundfloor Gallery in Sydney, Australia, will be showing “Figurative Abstractions,” featuring 18 pieces of Massry’s digital photography work, from February 3 – 13, with an opening reception on Tuesday, February 2, 6 – 8pm. The exhibition will include colorful, abstract close-ups of skin painted with makeup inspired by Mark Rothko’s paintings, as well as photos that suggest bizarre landscapes.
