To Paint or Not to Paint

December 17, 2004

The Derek Eller Gallery, 526 – 30 West 25th Street, is featuring an exhibition of work by BFA Cartooning Department instructor Keith Mayerson. “Hamlet 1999” collects paintings that rethink images from history, movies and comics, all done in a somewhat surreal style. Mayerson is no stranger to the realm of the macabre, having drawn the graphic novel Horror Hospital Unplugged and previously exhibited “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell!” in Los Angeles. “Hamlet 1999” runs through Thursday, December 23.
