Outer Boroughs

Gallerygoers who are looking for artistic pleasures outside Manhattan can take the bridges and tunnels to two exhibitions taking place in two boroughs: The Queens Museum of Art, in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, presents “Queens International 2004” through Saturday, February 6, 2005. The second installment of the museum’s Queens-centric exhibition includes work by Michelle Cheiken (MFA 2002 Photography and Related Media), Shin il Kim (MFA 2001 Computer Art), Margaret Lanzetta (MFA 1989 Fine Arts), Kurt Lightner (MFA 2004 Fine Arts), Jo Mikals-Adachi (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Katie Murray (BFA 1997 Photography) and Minshik Shin (MFA 1996 Fine Arts).

Over in Kings County, Goliath Visual Space (117 Dobbin Street, Williamsburg, Brooklyn) is showcasing work by the Goliath Collective from November 13 to December 12; the Collective includes Erik Guzman (MFA 2003 Fine Arts, BFA 1996 Fine Arts), Mayumi Hayashi (BFA 2001 Fine Arts), Nils Karsten (BFA 1999 Fine Arts), Noah Landfield (BFA 2001 Fine Arts), Nick London (BFA 2001 Fine Arts), Amy Stienbarger (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Jessie Tong (MFA 2003 Fine Arts), Nicolas Touron (MFA 2003 Fine Arts) and Nagisa Wada (BFA 2003 Fine Arts). There will be an opening reception on Saturday, November 13, 7 – 9pm.
