College Electors

October 27, 2004

As Election Day draws near, students from the MFA Design and MFA Illustration as Visual Essay Departments have created an election-themed newspaper in which they express their views on the Presidential race. Organized by second-year MFA Design students Kirsten Sorton and Chris Ritchie, 23 student artists each created a page that was reproduced on broadsheet newsprint, recreating the look and feel of a tabloid-style publication. The students’ contributions run from slogans for or against a specific candidate or issue to general reminders to get involved in the process by voting. The Visual Arts Briefs is in agreement with the latter point: don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, November 2.
