Brendan on the Boulevard

October 27, 2004

Each year, the Municipal Art Society presents the Brendan Gill Prize to the creator of a building, book, essay, poem, lyric, song, composition, play, painting, sculpture, landscape or any other work of art that best captures the energy of New York. This year’s recipient is Warren Lehrer (MFA Design faculty), who along with his wife and collaborator Judith Sloan, created the multi-media project Crossing the BLVD. The project, subtitled Strangers, Neighbors, Aliens in a New America, examines the lives of immigrants and refugees who have settled in the Queens borough.
