Long-time BFA Illustration and Cartooning instructor and frequent contributor to the College’s series of subway posters Jerry Moriarty is being honored with a solo exhibition at the Cue Art Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides educational programs for young artists and aspiring art professionals. Moriarty’s friend, colleague and former SVA instructor Art Spiegelman curated the exhibition, selecting paintings and drawings from the Sally’s Surprise and Me-Now-Then series, both of which draw on the artist’s childhood memories, from the confusion of the onset of puberty to the grief of losing a parent. The exhibition will be on display at the Cue Foundation, 511 West 25th Street, through Saturday, October 16.
