The recently remodeled Brooklyn Museum celebrates its new front entrance and public plaza with an exhibition entitled Open House: Working in Brooklyn, which features over 300 works by 200 Brooklyn artists. Among the Brooklynites whose work is on display are Nicole Engelmann (MFA 2002 Fine Arts), Mariam Ghani (MFA 2002 Photography), Kate Gilmore (MFA 2002 Fine Arts), Robert Lazzarini (BFA 1990 Fine Arts), Collier Schorr (BFA 1984 Communication Arts), David Schulz (BFA 1998 Photography), Diana Shpungin (MFA 2002 Fine Arts), Amy Sillman (BFA 1979 Fine Arts) and Lorna Simpson (BFA 1982 Photography). You can see Open House at the Brooklyn Museum, 200 Eastern Parkway, through August 15. The museum’s redesigned entranceway features a specially commissioned mural by Alexis Rockman (BFA 1985 Fine Arts).
