SVA has entered into a new partnership with Artists Talk On Art (ATOA), a nonprofit organization that has organized panel discussion series for the last 30 years. The agreement will bring ATOA to the College during the 2004-2005 academic year for a series of Friday-night panels in the Amphitheater, from mid-October through mid-May. The 24 panel discussions scheduled for the coming year will feature some of the world’s leading artists and critics, and are open to the SVA community free of charge.
SVA Provost Christopher Cyphers and Executive Director of the Division of Continuing Education Joseph Cipri brokered the venture with ATOA, and Cipri will oversee the series on behalf of SVA. According to Cyphers, “This partnership signifies an important opportunity to build upon our already excellent community outreach efforts and will provide some outstanding co-curricular programming events for SVA students and faculty.” A calendar of ATOA events will be posted on the College’s Web site, www.schoolofvisualarts.edu, in the fall.
