The World In Harlem

February 12, 2004

Amir A. Mughal (BFA 1998 Fine Arts) joins over a dozen of today’s most compelling black architects who were invited to participate in Harlemworld: Metropolis as Metaphor, an exhibition on view through April 4 at the Studio Museum in Harlem, 144 West 125th Street. Mughal collaborated with architect/theorist Coleman A. Jordan to present ideas and proposals for multiple sites around Harlem, contemplating Harlem as a cultural, architectural, territorial, psychological, historic and economic site. Organized by curator Thelma Golden, this exhibition examines Harlem as a changing landscape and includes a presentation of traditional models and plans alongside photography, video, digital media and installation work.
