Sylvia Plachy at SVA

On Thursday, January 15, photographer Sylvia Plachy will visit SVA. Born in Budapest, Plachy began her career as staff photographer for The Village Voice in 1977. Selections of her work for the Voice became the content of Unguided Tour, winner of the 1990 ICP Infinity Award for Best Publication. Her work has been published in Aperture, Metropolis, The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Time and Wired magazines. Plachy will present her work at 6:30pm in the SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd floor. Sponsored by the BFA Photography Department and the Camera Club of New York. Admission is $10, free to Camera Club of New York members and SVA students, faculty and staff. Photo ID required for entry.
