Creative Time Square

January 30, 2004

Creative Time and Panasonic are proud to present Who’s Afraid of Blue, Red and Green?, an online competition and public art project based on the elementary visual building blocks of digital display screens. Through March 31 (in cooperation with the Landesmuseum in Linz, Austria), participants are invited to design an animation derived from 15 vertical compositions in blue, red and green. Three winning entries, chosen by a jury that includes numerous artists and museum professionals like Erwin Redl (MFA 1995 Computer Art), writer, artist Barbara Pollack (faculty, BFA Photography) and the executive director of Creative Time, Anne Pasternak, will be announced in May and featured as part of the next installment of, “The 59th Minute: Video Art on the Times Square Astrovision,” from June 27 through September. Videos will air the last minute of every hour of the Astrovision programming day (6am-1am). To find out more about the project or how to submit work, visit the Creative Time web site.
