Words 58 is now out and about. Words is a collection of written work by students and faculty (and some guest writers) at SVA and is published twice a year by the Humanities and Sciences Department. Passersby can pick up copies at the Eastside and Westside Information Desks, or contact the Humanities and Sciences Department at 212.592.2623 for a copy.
Tuesday, December 9, 7pm: Photographer Brian Finke (BFA 1998 Photography) will visit SVA to present his new book 2-4-6-8: American Cheerleaders and Football Players. There will be a Q&A session with Finke, and he will be on hand to sign books available for purchase at the event. Meet Finke in the SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd floor.
Thursday, December 11, 7pm: In celebration of David Rhodes’ 25th Anniversary as President of the School of Visual Arts, there will be a panel discussion on the life, work and influences of French existentialist Albert Camus by SVA faculty. The presentation, Rebellion, Resistance and Death, will take place in the SVA Amphitheater, 209 East 23rd Street, 3rd floor.
Friday, December 12, 5 – 7pm: The Art Education Department will host an open
house reception for the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, offering an opportunity for people to learn more about the new degree, meet the faculty and staff members, tour the facilities and have specific questions addressed.
