BFA Photography Department instructor Elinor Carucci has recently been appointed as a visiting lecturer at Harvard Univeristy for Spring 2004. Carucci was commissioned earlier this year by Selfridges, a popular British store, to photograph their advertising campaign “Body Craze.” The work was seen all over London on billboards, buses and in the store itself. In addition, Carucci continues to actively promote her 2002 publication Closer, a monograph including intimate photographs of her family in everyday domestic environments.
Gallerygoers can view the most recent work of Abby Robinson, BFA Photography Department instructor, in Outside/In at Wooster Arts Space, 147 Wooster Street through January 10, 2004. The exhibition presents five artists who are all working between and through spaces: physically, metaphorically and conceptually. Robinson’s work features panoramic color photographs of the interiors of old commercial photo studios in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India. Curated by artist Joyce Kozloff, the other artists included in Oustide/In are Elizabeth Demaray, Donna Dennis, Simonetta Moro and Nina Yankowitz.
