Busy Berman

September 29, 2003

From watercolors to photos, Joan Berman-Goldberg, an instructor in the Humanities and Sciences Department, has been spreading her artistic wings. She is currently exhibiting watercolor work in a group show at The Courier/Mittman Gallery, 38-15 Bell Boulevard, in Bayside, Queens through November 13. In a recent review of the show from the Queens Courier, writer Christa Weber says, “Joan Berman-Goldberg makes full use of the versatility of watercolors. Her gentle paintings are playful while still retaining subtlety, as in Dock of the Bay, in which quiet blocks of color tell a story. There is depth that is conveyed in surprisingly few elements, no less real for their soft focus.”

In addition, Berman made a donation of photographs to the September 11th Photo Project, which were recently on view and will now become part of The New York Public Library’s permanent collection. For more information visit the web site.
