All Hell Breaks Loose

April 4, 2003

Regina Weinreich, an instructor in the Humanities and Sciences Department, has a new book out, Jack Kerouac’s Book of Haikus (Penguin). To celebrate its publication, there will be an evening of readings and performances by such luminaries as Jim Carroll (Basketball Diaries), Jimmy Fallon (Saturday Night Live), John Ventimiglia (The Sopranos), Ed Sanders (The Fugs), and more. It takes place April 9 at 8pm at St. Mark’s Church, Second Avenue and Ninth Street. Ms. Weinreich will also be on a panel to celebrate and discuss the 50th anniversary edition of William S. Burroughs’ classic Junky (Viking/Penguin), and a newly restored Naked Lunch (Grove). That’s happening April 15, 6 – 8pm at Columbia University’s Butler Library.
