Slaying Broadway

February 14, 2003

SVA alumna Jill Slaymaker (Certificate, Art Education, 1995) will present a new series of mixed media paintings at Gallery Juno. The show, entitled Variations of the Tree of Life, runs February 21 – March 22. Much of her work expresses the healing power of nature. She describes this work as “An exploration of the relationship between nature and modern man, juxtaposing ‘sublime’ nature images with symbols from science and technology.” Her work in this exhibition combines painting and printmaking and applies her visual interpretations of the universal symbol of eternity and peace onto wood. Gallery Juno is located at 568 Broadway, Suite 604B; Reception: February 21, from 6 – 8pm.
